Dom Um Romão born in Rio is considered to be one of the greatest living percussionists. He began his career by helping Sergio Mendes record the version of the classic "Mas Que Nada" in 1962. His early career was spent collaborating with such legendary figures as Frank Sinatra, Astrud Gilberto, Jorge Ben, and Airto Morreira. He is better known as a founding member of the jazz fusion supergroup Weather Report, later replaced by Airto Morreira
